Celebrating Black History Month with Ilyasah Shabbaz

On February 16, as part of Black History Month, Ilyasah Shabazz spoke at Quinsigamond Community College’s main campus in Worcester about the legacy of her parents, Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz, and her work in diversity, equity and inclusion. Worcester's History Comes to Life at QCC

Local historian Frank Morrill didn't know he had come into possession of a photographic gold mine when he purchased a box of William Bullard's glass photo negatives in 2003. As a collector and former history teacher, he appreciated the historical context of the photos that were taken from 1897 to 1918, but it was a chance observation of his granddaughter much later that sparked a passion project....

QCC Staff and Faculty Spring into Wellness

QCC pulled out all the stops for the Spring into Wellness Employee Appreciation event on Friday, March 3. Tacos, ice cream and therapy dogs were just the tip of the iceberg of activities offered to QCC faculty and staff. QCC is offering the public free assistance with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filing process, as well as tax preparation on Wednesday, March 15 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at 670 West Boylston Street, Worcester, in the Administration Building. FAFSA workshops will take place in rooms 377A and 378A. Tax preparation will take place in rooms 177A and 178A.

Wyvern Sports Corner

Men's Basketball

The Wyverns Men's Basketball team recently ended a stellar season after making it to the semi-final regional championships on Saturday, March 4. While they didn't win the March 4 game against Roxbury Community College, they brought QCC to the playoffs for the first time and finished with a 15-11 record, up from 6-19 last season. HomePlate Food Pantry & Resource Gets a Transportation Upgrade

Last December, the HomePlate Food Pantry & Resource Center purchased a refrigerated truck in order to increase its ability to provide access to fresh food. The van was purchased with funds from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation.
