Test

Schedule a college placement test online

Have college credit in math and English? You may not need to test. Visit the Advising Center in the Harrington Learning Center with your college transcript.

Choose Your StartRIGHT session & Register for Classes (Accepted Students only)

StartRIGHT is a 2-hour group Advising & Registration workshop designed to teach students how to use the tools and resources available at QCC, and work through the enrollment process.

Once you have your Student Portal (The Q) User Name and Password information and have taken the math and English Placement Test (or have prior college credits in math and English), it's time to sign up for a required StartRIGHT session so that you may register for classes.

Here's how to sign up for StartRIGHT sessionDon't wait, sign up today! 

1. Go to www.QCC.edu

2. Click on the link for “The Q

3. Log in with your User Name and Password for The Q portal located on the back of your Acceptance letter

4. Click on #2 (under the Welcome page on The Q), “Sign Up for StartRIGHT

5. Select a date/time and fill in your personal information on the StartRIGHT page

6. Click “Register” (located at the bottom of the Personal Information page).

7. You will receive a confirmation email in your QCC email account. This email will contain important information regarding your StartRIGHT session.

At the StartRIGHT Session, please bring with you the following items:

  • Acceptance letter you received from Admissions
  • QCC ID#, your Q and QMail username and password (in your Acceptance letter)
  • Accuplacer placement scores from testing, any AP Scores from High School, and any unofficial transcripts you may have from previous schools you attended (if applicable).

Each session starts promptly at the advertised time. Please plan accordingly. StartRIGHT sessions take place in a computer classroom; space is limited to attendees.
