Welcome to Wyvern Nation!

We are so excited to welcome you to the QCC Family!

The Orientation Program at QCC includes three categories:

  1. Online Orientation
  2. New Student Orientation (on-campus)
  3. Welcome Events during the First Week of Classes

Online Orientation

A self-paced and accessible at any time on any device.

ALL new students and those returning after 2 years or more are expected to complete the online orientation.

The online orientation provides the ultimate virtual onboarding experience by welcoming, informing, inspiring, and preparing you the new students, and your families for a more successful transition to your institution. In each section, you will learn more about QCC, the many services we offer our students, and how you will succeed in all your goals and dreams. After completion, students will have full access to review the material at any time throughout their QCC career.

New Student Orientation (NSO)

A more hands-on experience at the West Boylston Campus.

To best support your transition to QCC, the first half of the day will introduce you to the academic and support services and how to navigate and utilize QCC's technology platforms; i.e., Blackboard and The Q. The second half of the day will focus on academic success and ways to get involved outside of the classroom.

What to expect at NSO:

  • Become a part of a unique, supportive community of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Be introduced to resources and opportunities available for growth and success.
  • Meet new and returning QCC students.
  • Become familiar with the West Boylston campus buildings, resources, and services.

You will have the opportunity to have all your questions answered and feel a part of the QCC community, prepared to begin the next phase of your education.

The Welcome Week Experience

A week-long programming initiative.

The purpose of Welcome Week is to celebrate and support the QCC student community outside the classroom! New students are encouraged to take full advantage of the opportunities provided to ask for help at the start of classes, meet new friends, and of course to always have fun!

The types of programs, workshops, and fun activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Wyvern Welcome Tent | Have your questions answered, spin the trivia wheel for a prize, and walk away with FREE QCC swag!
  • Craft & DIY Creations | Grab and Go or Stay and Make! A variety of options are offered throughout the year.
  • Ticket Sales | Discounted tickets. Transportation is not included.
  • QLA Information Sessions | Learn how you can maximize your leadership development and skills.
  • Student Government Association (SGA) Information Sessions | Learn how you can be a part of QCC Governance and truly be the voice of the student body.
