Deputy Chief DiGiovanni Completes FBI Leadership Training

In early February, Quinsigamond Community College Deputy Chief, Stephen DiGiovanni, completed the last session of an extensive three-part training at the FBI-LEEDA Command Leadership Institute. The Institute was developed to prepare law enforcement leaders for command level positions.
“This leadership training has been around for decades and has been proven over time in its effectiveness. The FBI teaches its trainings all over the world and is recognized as the best of the best in the world,” DiGiovanni said.
DiGiovanni has a long history with QCC. He began working at the college in 2008 as a patrol officer, working his way up to QCC’s first detective in 2012, then to sergeant and detective sergeant in 2014. In 2015, he was named Deputy Chief of Police Operations, where he oversees the Uniform Patrol Division, Communication Division (Dispatch), and QCC’s Security Department. In addition, he oversees staff scheduling, major event planning, training and development, vehicle fleet management, and technical support. DiGiovanni is also a certified instructor for the Municipal Police Training Committee and teaches at QCC’s Police Academy.
“Over the years, QCC Campus Police and the entire college community have come to rely on Deputy Chief DiGiovanni for his integrity and commitment to our college community,” said QCC Police Chief Kevin Ritacco. “This training fortifies his leadership skills and is invaluable for his role at the college.”
“Professional development helps strengthen our leaders,” QCC President Dr. Luis Pedraja added. “Additional, ongoing training and education help all of us to better serve the college community. “
DiGiovanni has worked over the past several months to obtain these advanced leadership trainings and this session completes DiGiovanni’s trilogy. The trilogy consists of the Supervisor Leadership Institute, the Command Leadership Institute, and the Executive Leadership Institute.
“Staying abreast of the best, most effective leadership training enables senior commanders to continue delivering the most pragmatic solutions for any given situation,” DiGiovanni said. “I am proud to be a part of training that will help take law enforcement at QCC to the next level.”
DiGiovanni earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College.
