A Day of Appreciation for Our Valued Employees

When: Friday, March 3, 2023, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Lunch 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Where: Athletic Center, HLC and Administration Building at QCC’s Main Campus

Self care can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, increase your energy, improve your mood and boost your self-esteem. Help us help you by making sure to attend this daylong event designed just for QCC’s faculty and staff. Join your colleagues for a day long celebration of wellness just for YOU! A variety of entertaining, fun, healthy and informative activities, coupled with an incredible catered luncheon, and Ben and Jerrys ice cream are the makings for a perfect day! Make sure to check out all the activities and sign up for the ones you are interested in before they fill up. We can’t wait to see you there!

Athletic Center (Activities & Resources)

Cycling

Indoor cycling session with Amy Booth, often called spinning, is a form of exercise with classes focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity, and recovery.

Chair Massages 

Chair Massage is designed to take the weight off the spine and give easy access to the head, neck, back, shoulders and arms.

Aromatherapy

The Aromatherapy stations will teach you more about essential oils and their properties. Become more knowledgeable on how essential oils can be used to improve one's health and mood!

Caricatures

The Caricatures station will allow you or you and a friend to receive a black and white Caricature. Caricatures are funny renditions of a person, usually exaggerating one or two features to create a likeness that becomes a cherished keepsake!

The DIY Bamboo Station will allow you to create a decorative planter for your bamboo which you can display in your home or office!

Meditation with Jean Kennedy is the practice of paying attention to the present moment. Meditation can bring you a sense of calm and well-being.

Yoga 

Yoga session with Tammy Chiarizio. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mats. Extra mats will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Yoga offers deep breathing techniques and physical poses to balance the mind and body.

A few Important Items of Note
  • Are you a faculty or staff member working at one of QCC’s other locations* on March 3, who has no way to get to the main campus? Not to worry, we can help!

    Simply call Red Cab (508.792.9999)  and let them know you are coming to QCC’s main campus for the Spring Into Wellness Day event, and they will bring you here and take you back for FREE!

    Rides are available from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.  (*This is only available from one QCC location to another – no private residence pick ups or drop offs)
     
  • Make sure to sign in when you get to the Athletic Center or Harrington Learning Center and pick up a name tag.
     
  • Enter a drawing for a wellness care package.
     
  • Make sure to make a contribution to our Appreciation Wall.
