In a collaborative community spirit, the Student Government Association, QCC Athletics and the HomePlate Food Pantry & Resource Center held a week of donations in early April, with all donations going toward a Community Closet for students in need. A large array of clothing, shoes and other items were collected and organized by students, faculty and staff.

"The outpouring of items goes on and on. It's truly an amazing sight," said Director of Athletic and Fitness Center, Lisa Gurnick, who helped to spearhead the donation event.

QCC's Police Academy also felt the giving spirit and made a massive donation  to the HomePlate Food Pantry & Resource Center. The cadets rounded up a huge donation of food items, diapers and personal hygiene products. Donations such as these have a large impact on the QCC community members who are food insecure and rely on the food pantry.
