Tuesday, October 5: All College Forum for faculty and staff, 2:00 p.m. on Zoom. Check QCC family email for a Zoom link.

Monday, October 11: Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day - No classes - the College is closed.

Tuesday, October 12: The Psi Beta & Psychology Club Guest Lecture Series welcomes Dr. Rebecca Spencer, University of Massachusetts, Amherst from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Her talk will be on, "The Power of Sleep and Dreams for Memory and Performance."  Attendance will be taken for faculty who offer extra credit to their students. Persons in need of accommodations can contact Dr. Valarie Clemente at vclemente [at] qcc.mass.edu. The event will be held on Zoom

Wednesday, October 20:  H.A.C.E. - Hispanics Achieving and Celebrating Excellence 36th Anniversary Ceremony. This year, the event will be held virtually on Zoom from 5:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.and feature Keynote Speaker Ivette Olmeda. Ms. Olmeda is one of MassDevelopment’s Transformative Development Initiative Fellows. TDI aims to accelerate economic growth within focused districts in Massachusetts’ Gateway Cities. Additional guest speakers include: Worcester Superintendent of Schools Maureen Binienda, Southbridge Receiver/Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Villar, Worcester Mayor Joseph Petty and Quinsigamond Community College President Dr. Luis Pedraja. Music will be provided by QCC Assistant Professor of Music, José Castillo and his students.

Wednesday, October 20: Virtual Job Fair through Handshake from noon to 2:00 p.m. Students must register for the fair in Handshake. Once registered, students will be able to sign up for multiple employer group sessions. Students must activate their Handshake account, select QCC from the dropdown menu, and go to the events tab to register for the fair.  

Zoom - passcode: HACE.  Parents, family, friends and the community to attend.

Tuesday, October 26: All faculty, staff, and students are invited to join the Diversity Caucus and attend virtual  monthly meetings from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Campus-wide events and activities are discussed and planned. New ideas and suggestions for activities and events are welcome. Email either Co-Chair, Selina Boria at sboria [at] qcc.mass.edu or Brenda Safford at bsafford [at] qcc.mass.edu to be added to the Diversity Caucus email distribution list, or to request remote participation. 

Thursday, October 28: All Campus Open House from 4:30 p.m.  - 6:30 p.m. at the Welcome Center on QCC’s Main Campus (670 West Boylston St., Worcester). Representatives from departments such as Financial aid, Tutoring, Career Services, Placement Testing and Veteran’s Affairs will be present. Campus tours will be given.

Sunday, October 31: Happy Halloween! Have a spooktacular day! 

October Spotlight (a): QCC is offering empty classrooms for QCC students to take their online or remote classes without having to leave campus! These quiet spaces are the perfect spot for students who might already be on campus for an in-person course but have another one coming up that’s online. Seats are available on a first-come, first serve basis.

Clubs are a great way to meet people, make friends, learn more about something you are interested in, or simply have fun!
