QCC Students Named PTK Academic Team Members
May 2016
PTK members Aaron Dean and Kayla Paterson visited the State House in Boston earlier this month to be recognized as top scholars. Two students from each of the community colleges are named 2016 PTK All Massachusetts Academic Team members.
Hosted by the Massachusetts Community College Executive Office, the event brings together the best and brightest of the 15 college system. It is co-sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for community colleges, the Coca-Cola Foundation and MCCEO. Massachusetts Secretary of Education James Peyser, Governor Charlie Baker’s top education advisor and member of the Executive Cabinet, provided keynote remarks.
Mr. Dean was presented with the PTK Guistwhite Scholarship, he received citations from the state senate and the Massachusetts Board of Education. He also was named the Coca Cola Foundation All USA Gold Medal Scholar.
Ms. Paterson was named one of the 29 Who Shine students and also received citations from the state senate and the Massachusetts Board of Education.
