QCC First College in MA to Receive Respiratory Care Credentialing Award

WORCESTER, MA— June 21, 2023 — Quinsigamond Community College became the first respiratory care program in Massachusetts to receive the President’s Award for Excellence in Credentialing Success from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). CoARC accredits Entry into Professional Practice respiratory care programs throughout the United States.

QCC Employee Inducted into MA Special Olympics Hall of Fame

WORCESTER, MA— June 13, 2023 — Longstanding employee Ryan Dixon of Bobby M’s Diner, a diner located in the Worcester Senior Center and run by Quinsigamond Community College’s Hospitality and Recreation Management program, was recently inducted into the Massachusetts Special Olympics Hall of Fame.

​Former NFL Player to Speak at Early College Worcester Day of Empowerment

WHAT:              Quinsigamond Community College and Eary College Worcester are hosting a Day of Empowerment for ECW students at Polar Park. Former NFL Player Shawn Harper will provide a motivational speech followed by a question-and-answer session. Representatives from QCC and WSU will facilitate student empowerment workshops focusing on motivation, identifying strengths and goal setting.

QCC Announces Spring 2023 Semester Dean and Merit Lists

WORCESTER, MA— May 23, 2023 — Quinsigamond Community College has released its Spring 2023 Semester Dean and Merit Lists. A total of 439 students were named to the college’s Dean’s List and 826 students were named to the Merit List.

Quinsigamond Community College’s 58th Commencement Ceremony

WORCESTER, MA— May 19, 2023 —The Honorable Margaret R. Guzman was Quinsigamond Community College’s keynote speaker at its 2023 Commencement ceremony, held at the DCU Center in Worcester on May 19, 2023. Guzman, who was appointed by President Joe Biden and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as a Federal District Court Judge for the District of Massachusetts, sitting in the Worcester Federal Court, in 2023, is a native of Worcester.

Guzman relayed a story that is similar to many of QCC’s students.

QCC’s Police Academy Graduates Realize 100 Percent Job Placement

WORCESTER, MA— May 1, 2023 — Quinsigamond Community College’s (QCC) Police Academy held its second graduation ceremony of the Academy’s extended format program on April 27, 2023, and already the entire graduating class of 17 officers have all secured employment.

“We are delivering highly skilled officers to communities across the Commonwealth. I’m so proud of our graduates and this program,” said QCC’s Chief of Police and Director of the Police Academy, Kevin Ritacco.

QCC Voting Awareness Forum Canceled

 

WORCESTER, MA— April 13, 2023 — Quinsigamond Community College has canceled the voting event, “Get Vocal, Vote Local,” awareness forum that was scheduled for today, Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. on the college’s main campus. 

The forum was canceled due to logistical issues, as well as obtaining broader participation in the forum.

QCC is looking into rescheduling the event for a later date.

Quinsigamond Community College and Central Mass. Agency on Aging Find Success in Dental Program for Seniors

WORCESTER, MA— March 21, 2023 — Quinsigamond Community College and The Central Massachusetts Agency on Aging (CMAA) have partnered to offer free dental care to seniors, finishing off the first year of its partnership with an increase in seniors coming to QCC for dental care. QCC’s Dental Clinic offers culturally sensitive, professional preventative dental services for older adults, as well as a chance for QCC students to gain hands-on, real world experience working with senior patients.

QCC to Offer Free Tax and FAFSA Assistance

WORCESTER, MA— March 7, 2023 — Quinsigamond Community College is offering the public free assistance with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filing process, as well as tax preparation on Wednesday, March 15 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at 670 West Boylston Street, Worcester, in the college’s Administration Building. FAFSA workshops will take place in rooms 377A and 378A. Tax preparation will take place in rooms 177A and 178A.

QCC’s Deputy Chief of Police Completes Rigorous Leadership Training

WORCESTER, MA— February 24, 2023— In early February, Quinsigamond Community College Deputy Chief, Stephen DiGiovanni, completed the last session of an extensive three-part training at the FBI-LEEDA Command Leadership Institute. The Institute was developed to prepare law enforcement leaders for command level positions.

“This leadership training has been around for decades and has been proven over time in its effectiveness. The FBI teaches its trainings all over the world and is recognized as the best of the best in the world,” DiGiovanni said.
