Ilyasah Shabazz Speaks at QCC to Celebrate Black History Month

WORCESTER, MA— February 22, 2023 — As part of Black History Month, Ilyasah Shabazz recently spoke at Quinsigamond Community College’s main campus in Worcester about the legacy of her parents, Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz, and her work in diversity, equity and inclusion. Shabazz is an award-winning author, educator and producer.

QCC President Dr. Luis G. Pedraja started the event by addressing how Black, indigenous, immigrant and other populations have been left out of history and need to be acknowledged.

QCC Announces Fall 2022 Semester Dean and Merit Lists

WORCESTER, MA— January 9, 2023—Quinsigamond Community College has released its Fall 2022 Semester Dean and Merit Lists. A total of 482 students were named to the College’s Dean’s List and 864 students were named to the Merit List.

WORCESTER (Jan. 4, 2023)— Quinsigamond Community College and Worcester State University have been awarded grants totaling $1.6 million from the Baker-Polito Administration to strengthen the region’s nursing talent pipeline and improve career pathways for the nursing profession.

QCC’s Winter Break Offers Students a Chance to get Ahead

WORCESTER, MA— December 19, 2022 — As colleges and universities across the country gear up for winter break, Quinsigamond Community College is preparing for its Winter Intersession. Winter Intersession classes are full credit classes (three credits) that run during the winter break from January 3-10, 2023. These two-week classes save students time and money towards their degree or certificate. Intersession classes at QCC are well-known in the area, not just for students already enrolled at QCC, but for students attending other colleges.

WORCESTER, MA— December 5, 2022 —Quinsigamond Community College announced it has been selected as an education partner for Amazon’s Career Choice program, providing Amazon’s hourly employees access to QCC’s programs which include over 120 associate degrees and certificates.

QCC Holds Inaugural Apprenticeship Conference During National Apprenticeship Week

In honor of National Apprenticeship Week, Quinsigamond Community College gathered innovators in the field of apprenticeships, as well as industry professionals for its inaugural Apprenticeship Conference, “When Old Is New Again: Expanding Apprenticeships in Massachusetts,” on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, held at the AC Marriot in Worcester.

QCC Opens CNA Testing Site to Assist with Shortage

WORCESTER, MA— November 2, 2022 —  Quinsigamond Community College’s Healthcare and Workforce Development Center opened its labs to offer Certified Nursing Assistant testing last week after administration learned that hundreds of people in Massachusetts were waiting to take the test to become a CNA.

“Federal regulations require a demonstration of skills, which require the use of equipment necessary to demonstrate those skills,” said Katheleen Conti assistant director of media relations for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Quinsigamond Community College and The Hanover Insurance Group Partner to Offer Mentoring

WORCESTER, MA— November 1, 2022 —  The Hanover Insurance Group has recently joined as a core partner of Quinsigamond Community College’s (QCC) mentoring program. Core partners are organizations that provide at least 10 mentors who will be matched with QCC students. The Hanover will be providing mentors from Mi Familia, one of its business resources groups which supports the Hispanic/Latinx community and its allies.
