QCC’s Biomanufacturing Pilot Program Bridges Employment Gap Through Community Partnerships

WORCESTER, MA—November 1, 2021— Quinsigamond Community College has partnered with Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives (MBI) and AbbVie, to deliver an innovative entry-level Biomanufacturing On-Ramp Workshop designed to encourage more people to enter the biomanufacturing industry pipeline.  Enabling more people to join the biomanufacturing workforce is the premise behind QCC’s biomanufacturing pilot program that kicked off in early October.

QCC’s Free Course Offerings Fast Track Students to In-Demand Careers

WORCESTER, MA—October 28, 2021 —Quinsigamond Community College will begin offering close to two dozen free entry-level career training programs in the coming months. This innovative programming format is being offered through a new Fast Track Skills Academy, from QCC’s Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education.

​QCC’s Rad Tech Students Reap Benefits from Activation Fund Grant

WORCESTER, MA—October 18, 2021— The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts (THFCM) has made a long-lasting impact to Quinsigamond Community College’s Radiologic Technology (RT) program. Funds awarded through THFCM’s 2020 Activation Fund grant enabled the College to purchase state-of-the-art digital radiography equipment that gives students the real-world experience they need to be successful radiologic technologists in today’s world.

QCC President’s Keynote Address Offers Insights on Systemic Racism and the Latinx Community During Hispanic Heritage Month

WORCESTER, MA— October 18, 2021— Quinsigamond Community College President Luis G. Pedraja, Ph.D. was the keynote speaker at The UMass Chan Medical School and the Diversity & Inclusion Office celebration of “Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope.” The event was in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and encouraged people to acknowledge, honor, and reflect upon the contributions Hispanics have made in the past and will continue to make in the future to the United States in general, but also in their own communities.

Quinsigamond Community College to Host All Campus Open House

WORCESTER, MA— October 18, 2021— On Thursday, October 28, Quinsigamond Community College will host an in-person All Campus Open House from 4:30 p.m.  - 6:30 p.m. at the Welcome Center on QCC’s Main Campus (670 West Boylston St., Worcester).

QCC’s Dental Hygiene Program Celebrates National Dental Hygiene Month

WORCESTER, MA— October 4, 2021— October is National Dental Hygiene Month, an annual reminder to everyone to practice good dental habits.

At Quinsigamond Community College, the dental hygiene students and faculty have been working together during these extraordinary times to promote good oral health to the local community. These students are part of the College’s Dental Hygiene Associate Degree Program that prepares them to enter the profession of dental hygiene by learning and practicing clinical skills in QCC’s Dental Hygiene Clinic. 

Free Healthcare Training

Quinsigamond Community College’s Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education (CWDCE) is once again offering a free Medical Administrative Assistant program and a Nurse Assistant/ Home Health Aide program, in late fall 2021 and early spring 2022. Each program takes approximately two months to complete.

“These free workforce training programs are one of the ways QCC is making an investment in the community our students live and work,” said Kathleen Manning, dean of The Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education.
