Math Tutoring - The Math Center (206 HLC) is a welcoming, supportive, and math positive learning space. We provide free, drop-in, one-on-one and small group tutoring, and math study space for students taking QCC math courses. QCC math tutors work with students in-person, online, and in corequisite classrooms. Resources for students in the Math Center include computers and software for math coursework, math textbooks to use in the center, pencils, paper, rulers, and various mathematics handouts and manipulatives. QCC math tutors who work with students in online math tutoring have copies of the course e-books (an electronic version of the printed textbooks).

Online
Join an online math tutoring session with QCC math tutors during the days and times listed below. Online sessions are also drop-in and you will be asked to sign-in in with your QCC student credentials (same as your student email).
Drop-in:

- Tuesday & Wednesday: 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
The goal of tutoring is to help strengthen math and study skills by reinforcing classroom learning whether the classroom is in-person or fully online. We believe that part of being a successful math student is to practice what you are learning by doing math through working on assignments, as well as utilizing course resources, such as reading the textbook/e-book to review examples and reinforce math vocabulary, watching videos, and reviewing class notes and handouts. Study groups are encouraged and welcome.
Tutors can work with students in all of QCC's math courses, they can assist with problems and examples from course textbooks/e-books, with similar questions from MyLab, ALEKS, Connect, WebAssign, and instructor OER homework assignments, and with assignments and practice tests that include printed or online instructor generated solutions. Tutors can also help navigate the course website, e-book, videos, Blackboard, and can help students find resources for using calculators and various technology.
Students are welcome to utilize both on-campus and online math tutoring, as well as the online resource ThinkingStorm, regardless of the mode of the course that they are taking.

Math Center AI Policy
The goal of math tutoring is to help students strengthen math and study skills. To this end, Math tutors cannot help with problems that have been solved using various AI tools. Students with questions about AI policies for their course should consult their instructor.

ThinkingStorm Online Tutoring
QCC students also have access to ThinkingStorm Online Tutoring, a company that QCC contracts with to provide additional online tutoring in a variety of subjects. It is a great resource for late nights, weekends, and semester breaks! You have up to 16 ThinkingStorm hours per semester.
