The Math Center Logo

The Math Center will offer drop-in, on-campus and online tutoring for the 2022 summer sessions. Online tutoring with QCC tutors will be available through Blackboard Collaborate.

A Mathematics Learning Space
The Math Center is a welcoming and supportive learning space, whether on-campus (206 HLC) or online/remote (Blackboard > Math Center). We provide free, drop-in, one-on-one and small group tutoring and provide study-space for currently enrolled QCC students. Resources for students on-campus include computers, math software, copies of current Math Department textbooks, and a lending library. Tutors who work with students remotely on Blackboard have copies of the current e-books (electronic versions of the printed textbooks).

  • Tutors can assist students in all of QCC's math courses
  • Come to the Math Center or to a remote session and work on your homework, then ask a tutor for assistance when you have a question
  • Meet your classmates and a tutor can work with your group

The goal of tutoring is to help strengthen math and study skills by reinforcing classroom learning whether the classroom is in-person (face-to-face); fully online (online remote); or a virtual class experience via the internet (real-time remote). Students can receive on-campus and/or online/remote tutoring regardless of your class modality. Part of being a successful math student is to practice what you are learning by doing math through working on assignments, as well as utilizing course resources, such as reading the textbook/e-book to review examples and reinforce math vocabulary, watching videos, and reviewing class notes and handouts.

QCC math tutors can assist with problems and examples from course textbooks and e-books (the electronic version of the textbook) and with similar questions from MyLab Math and WebAssign homework assignments. Tutors can also help navigate the course website, e-book, videos, and Blackboard. During final exam week they will assist with odd numbered questions from the e-books and final exam practice material from the Math Department and your instructor. For technical help and links, including with Blackboard, click here for the QCC Help
