Transfer to QCC

The QCC Admissions Office works with/assists students interested in transferring to QCC for certificates and associates degrees.

Transferring to QCC from another college is easy and can be done in 4 steps:

  1. Apply to QCC
  2. Submit proof of high school graduation or equivalent.
  3. Request that your former institution mail your college transcripts to QCC Admissions Office. This is the only way that transcripts will be considered official.
  4. Make an appointment with an academic advisor. It's a good idea to bring an unofficial transcript to your advisor appointment so that he or she can consider previous credits taken when assisting you to select your courses. You can make your advising appointment prior to your acceptance to the college.

Transfer FAQs

Preparing For Your Next Chapter

Each year, hundreds of QCC students transfer to four-year colleges and universities around the state, region, and country. Explore the factors you should consider when planning your transfer path.

Where You Can Transfer

Whether you are considering a Massachusetts State University or University of Massachusetts campus, a public college or university in another state, or a private/independent institution, it's never too early to start planning for transfer! Check out our list of popular transfer destinations!

Ways to Transfer

Some students attend QCC to complete several courses before continuing at a four-year college. Others stay through to graduation and take advantage of the benefit of an associate degree, including transfer agreements that lead to majors at various baccalaureate partner institutions. Regardless of how short or long you plan to attend QCC, thinking of transfer in terms of pathways is helpful! Our transfer experts are here to help you create a transfer plan that works for you!

Funding Your Future

Did you know there are scholarships available to QCC graduates who transfer to four-year colleges and universities? Some scholarships are school-specific, and others can be used at the student’s choice of institution. Visit the Transfer Services office to learn more about how to search for transfer scholarships.

QCC’s Transfer Agreements

A transfer agreement is a partnership between QCC and another school that’s designed to create a quick and easy transition experience for when you move on from QCC to a 4-year institution. Learn more about the different kinds of transfer agreements below.

Private Institutions

Articulation Agreements are formal contracts linking individual QCC associate degree programs with specific bachelor’s degrees at private colleges/universities (as well as some specific majors at public universities).

Public Institutions

MassTransfer is a state-wide network of agreements between the Massachusetts Community Colleges, Massachusetts State Universities, and University of Massachusetts campuses.

Community College-Specific MassTransfer Agreements

MassTransfer has set up a specific program for students who enter a Massachusetts Community College with the intent of transferring to a Massachusetts public institution, called the Commonwealth Commitment. This program includes financial incentives for those who are participating in a designated program full-time. Learn more about this program and talk with a transfer specialist today.

I was motivated to enroll at QCC by my older sister who was, at the time, earning her psychology degree here. She showed me how easy it was to start taking classes to see what I like and I also had friends who encouraged me to think about engineering. Currently, I am planning to transfer to WPI to earn my bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering. From the start here at QCC, I have been excited about math and physics, especially real-world applications and problem-solving. I believe this is partially due to the amazing STEM department that supported and inspired me, especially when I was first starting the engineering program.
