# Math Placement Assessment

**As of March 21, 2022, the Math Skill Check was retired** and we are currently using a variety of measures to ensure that students are placed in a math course that leads to the best success in the math curriculum and eventual graduation.

**Note:** If you were previously placed using the Math Skill Check, this placement will remain valid until October 1, 2022.

**Step 1: Academic Advising**

After applying to QCC, all new students will be assessed by the Advising Center to determine placement testing requirements. Students should check their personal email for the next steps.

## Step 2: QMAT Review

If you have been advised by the Advising Center to take the QMAT placement test, please first find your program page. Scroll down until you find your program or certificate and click on the program/certificate name. Once you are on the program page, click on the "Classes" tab and look by semester for the first math course required of your program. If you have problems finding the first math course in your program or certificate, please contact the Advising Center for help (508.854.4308).
