The Quinsigamond Community College English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program provides FREE English classes to adult learners whose native language is not English. Classes focus on reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar, and conversation. The ESOL program prepares students to develop proficient language skills.

Fall Semester: September 4, 2024 – December 19, 2024
Spring Semester: January 6, 2025 – June 5, 2025

ESOL Options for Students

Choose one of the three options below (Day, Night, or Distance Learning).

Complete the application form on our Student Portal to be notified of when we are accepting new students.

Day

Classes are offered as in-person and blended. 

Schedule

  • Option 1: Monday and Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 
  • Option 2: Tuesday and Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Steps to Enroll

  • Step 1: Please complete the form on our Student Portal to be notified of when we are accepting new students.
  • Step 2: We will reach out when we have dates available for the Placement Test. You will attend this test in-person.
  • Step 3: After completing the Placement Test, you will be added to the waitlist. You will be contacted when there is an opening in your class.

Night

Classes are offered in in-person and blended.

Schedule

  • Option 1: Tuesday and Thursday: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m
  • Option 2: Monday and Wednesday: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. 

Steps to Enroll

  • Step 1: Please complete the form on our Student Portal to be notified of when we are accepting new students.
  • Step 2: We will reach out when we have dates available for the Placement Test. You will attend this test in-person.
  • Step 3: After completing the Placement Test, you will be added to the waitlist. You will be contacted when there is an opening in your class.

Distance Learning

Distance Learning classes are 100% remote.

Steps to Enroll

  1. Choose a schedule option
    1. Distance Learning - Asynchronous (work completed on your own) 
    2. Hybrid - Monday, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  
  2. Step 2: Please complete the form on our Student Portal to be notified of when we are accepting new students.
  3. Step 3: We will reach out when we have dates available for the Placement Test. You will attend this test in-person.
  4. Step 4: After completing the Placement Test, you will be added to the waitlist. You will be contacted when there is an opening in your class.

  • Free Parking Available! 570 Main St. Federal Plaza Garage and 3 Salem St. McGrath Parking Lot. Tickets will be scanned at QCC Security Desk.

Course Options

  • In-person: All classes are on-campus.
  • Blended: One class is in-person and one class is remote through zoom.
  • Distance Learning - Asynchronous: (work completed on your own) You will be assigned a distance learning coach. A laptop or desktop computer is required for this class. You are required to meet with a coach once a week where you will receive 5 hours of assignments that you complete on your own during the week.
  • Hybrid: 100% online. Remote class once a week. Students complete 3 hours of work outside of class.
