ESOL - English for Speakers of Other Languages

Thank you for your interest in the QCC Adult Community Learning Center’s FREE English Classes! The Quinsigamond Community College English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program provides FREE English classes to adult learners whose native language is not English. Classes focus on reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar, and conversation. The ESOL program prepares students to develop proficient language skills.

You can use this proficiency for entering college, job training, and career advancement. 


Training and job opportunity for Advanced Students!

Biomanufacturing Technician Training - ESOL

This 10 week training will prepare you for an entry level technician position working in a bio manufacturing lab. At the conclusion of the training you may also have an opportunity to interview with local bio manufacturing companies.

This training is open to adult students in the highest levels of ESOL courses.

Requirements to be a part of this training:

  • Prior work experience 
  • ​The ability to work in the United States
  • Some education beyond high school

CLASSES ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADVANCED STUDENTS FOR BOTH DAY AND NIGHT. Enrollment for advanced September classes ends 9/15/21. All advanced students who are accepted by 9/15/2021 must attend Orientation on 9/16/2021!

Students will be contacted and invited to an enrollment session the week of 10/18/2021 if there is availability in the class for the next module starting on 10/25/2021. You can also come in person to 25 Federal St. Monday - Friday 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  for more information or help to fill out the application.

Applications can be completed by telephone for the Day and Night program only.  


Day Programs

Classes are held at 25 Federal Street, Worcester, MA 01608. Most of these classes are in person. Some have in person and online options.

  • Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday: Beginner and Intermediate - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 
  • Tuesday and Thursday: Advanced - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: Beginner and Intermediate - 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

If you would like to apply for day classes, you must complete both the application and the program placement.

Night Program

Classes are held at 25 Federal Street, Worcester, MA 01608. Most of these classes are in person. Some have in person and online options.

Monday Nights: 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. - Hybrid
Monday Hybrid for Beginner and Intermediate: plus 3 hours of individual assignments to complete the rest of the week by yourself.

Night Classes

  • Tuesday and Thursday: Beginner, Intermediate Advanced - 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m

Distance Learning

Distance Learning - asynchronous with one coach
This is offered to Intermediate and Advanced levels for 5 hours of individual work, weekly one on one meeting with your coach. 

If you would like to apply for Distance Learning classes, you must complete both the application and the program placement.

Fall Schedule

  • Fall I September 20 – October 22 (5 weeks)
  • Fall II October 25 – November 19 (4 weeks)
  • Fall III November 29 – December 17 (3 weeks)

Spring Schedule

  • Spring I January 10 – February 4 (4 weeks)
  • Spring II February 7 – March 18 (5 weeks)
  • Spring III March 21 – May 6 (6 weeks)
