ESOL - English for Speakers of Other Languages

Thank you for your interest in the QCC Adult Community Learning Center’s FREE English Classes! 

The Quinsigamond Community College English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program provides FREE English classes to adult learners whose native language is not English. Classes focus on reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar, and conversation. The ESOL program prepares students to develop proficient language skills.


  • Fall Semester: September 7, 2022 - December 17, 2022
  • Spring Semester:​ January 18, 2023 - May 12, 2023


  • We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced classes
  • Day, night, and online classes with multiple ways to learn
  • You can use this proficiency for entering college, job training, and career advancement 
  • Free Parking Available! 570 Main St. Federal Plaza Garage and 3 Salem St. McGrath Parking Lot. Tickets will be scanned at QCC Security Desk.

ESOL Options

Choose one of the three options below (Day, Night, or Distance Learning). 


Classes are offered in in-person and blended. 


  • Option 1: Monday and Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 
  • Option 2: Tuesday and Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Steps to Enroll

  • Step 1: Complete the ESOL Day Application Form.
  • Step 2: Take a placement test at QCC (25 Federal Street).
    • Tuesday, 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., or 11:00 a.m. (No appointment necessary)
  • Step 3: You'll be added to the waitlist. You will be contacted when there is an opening.


Classes are offered in in-person and blended.


  • Option 1: Tuesday and Thursday: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m
  • Option 2: Monday and Wednesday: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. 

Steps to Enroll

  • Step 1: Complete the ESOL Night Application Form.
  • Step 2: Take a placement test at QCC (25 Federal Street).
    •  Tuesday, at 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., or 6:00 p.m. (No appointment necessary)
  • Step 3: You'll be added to the waitlist. You will be contacted when there is an opening.

Distance Learning

Distance Learning classes are 100% remote.

Steps to Enroll

  1. Choose a schedule option
    1. Distance Learning - Asynchronous (work completed on your own) 
    2. Hybrid - Monday, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  
  2. Complete the Distance Learning Application
