Name: Dr. Lawrence Sasso
Title: Independent Advisor Representative, Lawrence Sasso Insurance & Financial Services, Inc.
QCC degree: Law Enforcement, class of 1988.
How did QCC impact your journey?
Quinsigamond Community College was the launching pad for my journey. It instilled confidence, discipline, and a love of learning that shaped my education, leadership, and commitment to service. The foundation I gained at QCC continues to influence who I am and how I lead today. My wife, Susan, and I attended QCC together. At QCC, we grew as students and as partners. We dated during our time there and graduated together in 1988, an experience that shaped our future in lasting ways.
What are you currently doing?
I currently serve as the Founder and President of Lawrence Sasso Insurance & Financial Services, Inc., while remaining actively involved in education and community service. I teach business courses at QCC, serve as Commander of American Legion East Side Post 201 in Worcester, and as head varsity softball coach at Ashland High School. I launched my podcast, “Get In The Game.” I am honored to be a member of the Worcester State University Board of Trustees. Most importantly, I value my family and the opportunity to mentor, lead, and give back to the community.
What advice would you give to current students and fellow alumni?
Take full advantage of every opportunity, even when the path isn’t clear. Build relationships, ask for help, and never stop learning. Stay grounded in your values, work hard, and remember that success is measured not only by what you achieve but by how you give back and lift others along the way. Get in the game, invest in lifelong learning, and make every day count!
How can we connect with you and support you?
I always welcome the opportunity to connect with students and fellow alumni through mentorship, speaking engagements, and community initiatives. Supporting education, financial literacy, and service-oriented programs are meaningful ways to collaborate, and I’m always happy to stay connected through professional and alumni networks. I encourage everyone to follow me on my “Get In The Game” podcast!
