Nick Chery is the eternally inspired type. As an Interactive Media Game Design major, with a passion for film, music and graphic design, he has leveraged QCC as the place to let his imagination soar while increasing his entrepreneurial skills.
Nick’s creative persona, Galax3verse, encompasses his diverse talents - from upbeat music production to captivating visual artwork. After honing his skills as a sound engineer, he dove headfirst into visual arts at QCC to complete his artistic vision.
“Digital design is everything. We value things more when we can see a visual representation. And then when you put sound behind it, it becomes alive,” Nick exclaimed. “Now I know how to put all the pieces together and I’ve been learning how to market my creations.”
Committed to his craft, Nick can often be found on campus from morning to evening, immersing himself in his classes and creative pursuits.
But Nick’s journey hasn't been solely focused on personal growth. He's also dedicated to inspiring and supporting his fellow students. Nick acts as a student ambassador, sharing his experiences and guiding others towards entrepreneurial opportunities.
"Interacting with other students is really important. It's the best part," he commented.
In addition to his artistic and entrepreneurial endeavors, Nick has also tapped into the school's support services, embracing therapy through the Counseling and Wellness Center, which he described as life-saving.
"Do your best to figure out what your true passion is, then build your self-confidence. When you find your passion, your purpose is endless."
As Nick continues to navigate his path at QCC, he's an inspiring example of the power of blending creativity, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. His story is just beginning, and it will be exciting to see what he accomplishes next.
“QCC isn’t just about getting a job,” Nick said. “It’s about starting your own life.”
