The Alumni Association holds bi-monthly meetings, with specific dates and times set by the Executive Board. A new Executive Board will be announced in the coming weeks. Planning for the 2025/2026 academic year is underway.
The Executive Board elections have concluded, all votes are being verified. Following the election, all elected candidates will be notified and asked to confirm their acceptance of the position.
Officer Responsibilities
President
- Preside Over Meetings: Lead Advisory Board, Executive Board, and general alumni meetings.
 - Strategic Planning: Set goals and initiatives aligned with the association's mission.
 - Policy Oversight: Ensure adherence to bylaws and establish governance policies.
 - Decision-Making: Guide discussions and make key organizational decisions
 
- Official Spokesperson: Represent the alumni association at events and in communications.
 - Community Building: Foster relationships between alumni, students, and the institution.
 - Event Participation: Attend and promote alumni events, fundraisers, and networking opportunities.
 - Advocacy: Serve as a voice for alumni in discussions with school leadership.
 
- Appoint Committee Members: Assign alumni to committees and special projects.
 - Oversee Committees: Provide guidance and ensure progress on initiatives.
 - Collaboration with Board Members: Work closely with officers and committee chairs.
 
- Support Development Efforts: Assist in fundraising campaigns and scholarship initiatives.
 - Engage Donors & Sponsors: Build relationships with key donors and corporate sponsors.
 - Encourage Alumni Giving: Promote participation in institutional fundraising.
 
- Sign Official Documents: Approve agreements, policies, and formal communications.
 - Maintain Communication Channels: Work with staff to manage newsletters, social media, and outreach.
 - Report to Stakeholders: Provide updates to the board, alumni, and school administration.
 
- Liaison with Administration: Communicate with college/university leadership on alumni matters.
 - Advise on Alumni Interests: Provide input on institutional decisions that affect alumni.
 - Serve on Foundation Boards: Represent the alumni association in related committees And the QCC Foundation Board.
 
Vice President
- Act as Second-in-Command: Assume the President's duties in their absence.
 - Preside Over Meetings: Lead Advisory Board or Executive Board meetings when necessary.
 - Assist with Strategic Planning: Help set goals, policies, and initiatives for the association.
 - Co-Sign Official Documents: Approve contracts, policies, or agreements when required.
 
- Support Outreach Efforts: Help build relationships between alumni, students, and the institution.
 - Represent the Association: Attend events, fundraisers, and networking functions as a representative.
 - Promote Alumni Activities: Encourage participation in programs, mentorships, and reunions.
 
- Oversee Committees & Projects: Assist in managing or chairing key committees.
 - Coordinate with Board Members: Work closely with officers and committee chairs to ensure smooth operations.
 - Encourage Volunteer Involvement: Recruit and engage alumni volunteers in association activities.
 
- Support Fundraising Initiatives: Assist in alumni giving campaigns and donor relations.
 - Collaborate with Administration: Work with university or college leadership to align alumni efforts with institutional goals.
 - Strengthen Alumni Networks: Help create connections between alumni for career development, mentorship, and philanthropy.
 
Secretary
- Record Meeting Minutes: Document discussions, decisions, and action items during board meetings.
 - Maintain Official Records: Keep bylaws, policies, historical documents, and meeting archives.
 - Manage Correspondence: Handle emails, letters, and official communications for the association.
 
- Distribute Meeting Agendas & Minutes: Ensure board members receive necessary documents before and after meetings.
 - Assist with Alumni Outreach: Work with the institution’s advancement or alumni office to share updates.
 - Oversee Information Distribution: Help manage newsletters, social media updates, and event announcements.
 
- Ensure Quorum & Governance Compliance: Track attendance and verify that meetings meet governance requirements.
 - Coordinate Meeting Logistics: Assist in scheduling, location setup, and document preparation.
 - Support Special Events: Help with invitations, RSVPs, and post-event follow-ups.
 
- Work with the President & Vice President: Provide administrative support to leadership.
 - Assist Committees: Help facilitate communication and track committee activities.
