Meet the Coach
John Preziosa
John Preziosa enters his 3rd season at the helm of the QCC Men’s Basketball Team. After advancing to the conference semi-finals last season, this year’s team is looking to build on their success. Preziosa brings with him a wealth of coaching experience, having served as a head coach and assistant coach at the high school and collegiate levels.
Preziosa earned his AA in Early Childhood Education and Teaching, graduating from Bunker Hill Community College. While at Bunker Hill, Preziosa played two years of basketball, earning the Most Improved Player Award in 1991.
Preziosa started at his Alma Mater in 2002, serving as Head Men's Basketball coach through 2005. During the 2005 season, Bunker Hill recorded a 23-12 record and won the NJCAA Region 21 Championship earning the first NJCAA National Tournament berth in school history. Preziosa was named the 2005 Region 21 Coach of the Year for his efforts.
Preziosa has had multiple stints as both Associate Head Coach and Assistant Coach at Salem State University; he was on staff during the 2006 and 2012 seasons when Salem won the MASCAC championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament.
In 2007 Preziosa became the first Head Men's Basketball Coach at Wheelock College and coached the team through the 2011 season. During his time at Wheelock, he took the team from a 1-23 record to a 17-11 record in just two years.
"Coach Prez" has also enjoyed stints at Melrose High School, Bishop Fenwick High School, and his Alma Mater, Malden High School. At all three schools, he has coached his teams to postseason play. John resides in Melrose, Mass, with his wife Gina, and two sons, Marino and Gino.
