After a decade of transformative leadership, Dr. Luis G. Pedraja will retire as President of Quinsigamond Community College, effective July 31, 2027. Since becoming president in 2017, Dr. Pedraja has guided QCC through a period of significant growth and innovation, including navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, expanding workforce and community partnerships, advancing equity and inclusion initiatives, achieving Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) status, and expanding student-centered resources that support academic success and basic needs. Dr. Pedraja's legacy will be defined by his unwavering commitment to 100% student success and his leadership in strengthening access, opportunity, and impact across the communities QCC serves.

As QCC prepares for its next chapter and the development of its next Strategic Plan, Dr. Pedraja expressed confidence in the college's future and gratitude for the community that has helped advance its mission.

Next Steps

The search for Quinsigamond Community College's next president is a pivotal moment for the institution and a responsibility the Board of Trustees takes very seriously. We are committed to conducting a transparent, inclusive, and comprehensive search process and look forward to welcoming Quinsigamond Community College's next president by next August 1, 2027.

We are searching for a dynamic and forward-thinking president who will inspire excellence, strengthen our impact, and lead QCC confidently into the future. The Board is currently conducting an RFP process to identify a search firm that will help support our presidential search.

Community engagement will be essential to this search. We are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to share their perspectives throughout the process. This feedback is imperative in helping to inform the leadership qualities, experiences, and characteristics we seek in our next president.

There will be three primary opportunities for members of the QCC community to participate in the search process: through service on the Presidential Search Committee, through campus listening sessions that will help shape the presidential profile, and through opportunities to meet and provide feedback on finalists during on-campus interviews.
