The Summit gathers over 1,000 leaders from community colleges across the country to showcase the importance of community colleges and educate leaders on federal policy issues.

Dr. Pedraja and the Board of Trustees, including Student Trustee Maria Mikhaeil, were able to hear from members of U.S. Congress, administration officials, leading political analysts and others about the current climate in D.C., recent elections, and legislative issues impacting community colleges. Some topics covered included clean energy, the economic impact of community college students and child care on college campuses.
