STEM Deans Announce STEM Students of the Semester for Fall 2023

STEM Dean Ben Benton (School of Mathematics and Science) and Acting Dean Kathy Rentsch (School of Business, Engineering & Technology) announced the names of 27 STEM students whose efforts and achievements are being recognized for Fall 2023 as STEM Students of the Semester.

“Students were selected by their course professors, based on demonstrating persistence in their academic studies,” said Benton, explaining that the students selected often overcome obstacles during their studies and assist other students.

Rentsch noted, “by sharing the stories of STEM students, we hope to inspire others to consider a STEM program of study”.


The STEM Students of the Semester for Fall 2023 were notified by a letter containing quotes from the faculty member who selected them. honoree include:

Each “STEM Students of the Semester” will receive a Certificate of Recognition that will be awarded at a reception sponsored by QCC’s STEM Starter Academy in their honor during February 2024. Student success stories will be shared in various QCC media channels, including future issues of The Wyvern Guardian newsletter.
