On Wednesday, October 25, 2023 the 2023-2024 Student Government Association (SGA) was officially sworn in. The new association consists of:

  • Dignamar Figueroa - Chair
  • Mike Frey - Vice Chair of SGA
  • Jessica Heywood - Vice Chair of Public Relations
  • Maria Mikhaeil - Student Trustee
  • Phoenix Zaja - Senate Member

"I have been advising SGA for two years now, and all of the teams have been amazing, but this group of students is truly going to take the QCC student experience to the next level. I'm so excited to see what they do and the impact they make. I am proud to be their Advisor," said Director of Student Life and Leadership Ashlee Givins.

The ceremony also included an inspiring speech about leadership by singer, songwriter and motivational speaker Jason LeVasseur.

The purpose of the SGA is to provide a forum in which student voices may be heard. The SGA works to promote the rights of students, involvement in college affairs, student input in educational matters, and communications among students, faculty, and Quinsigamond Community College's administration. In addition, the SGA ensures the continued advancement of an engaging student experience.

The SGA members have hit the ground running and attended the Community College Student Leadership Association conference in Springfield earlier this month and worked on leadership skills, networking and activism.
