If you receive the Worcester Historical Museum's newsletter, you may have seen Professor of History/Political Science Lisa Connelly Cook was the answer to a recent trivia question!

The question was, "In 1995 she was taking women's history classes at Clark University and she had a question, 'This sounds like it might have been important. How come I never heard of it before.' Who was this student? What was she asking about? What did her question lead to?"

Connelly Cook was the answer to WHM's query and she was asking about the women's rights convention that happened in Worcester in 1850. Connelly Cook went on to help found the Worcester Women's History Project, which reenacted the 1850 convention in 2000, and she is still active with the organization today.

"I am very proud of all the contributions of so many people who came together in the 1990s to plan a big community-wide celebration of Worcester's role in the early woman's right movement. The event was called WOMEN 2000 because the work goes on," Connelly Cook said.
