PTK Hands Out Children’s Books at Convoy of Hope

June 2016

As part of the Convoy of Hope Worcester Community Event on June 11, members of PTK distributed more than 3,000 books to help raise reading literacy.

The Convoy of Hope is a collaborative effort to bring hope to a city through free groceries, health screenings, job services, activities for children and more. More than 40 area churches, local business and health and community organizations participated in the event. This is the second year Worcester has hosted Convoy of Hope.

The event served 1,770 guests. PTK brought 4,000 books to help raise reading literacy rates and give families who may not have access to books a book for their home.

In addition to handing out books at the event, PTK donated a number of boxes to four local churches.

The event is part of a larger movement to inspire compassion and service and bring together people and service organizations.
