Worcester, MA – March 18, 2014 – Quinsigamond Community College will hold an Art Exhibit Reception on Wednesday, March 19 in the North Wing of QCC’s Administration Building at 670 West Boylston Street, Worcester. The reception celebrates QCC’s renewed commitment to arts education with an exciting programming announcement: QCC is Full STEaM Ahead, Merging Arts Programs with STEM Education to put the “a” in STEAM! The reception will also showcase artwork from a recent, juried competition of students, faculty, alumni and staff.
QCC recognizes that the arts are critical for a well-rounded education and is forging full STEaM ahead with art programs for the fall 2014 semester. The goal is to launch a full Visual and Performing Arts Program by 2016.
President Gail E. Carberry, Ed.D. said recently, “QCC’s aggressive STEM programs have paved the way for our graduates to become the newest and brightest leaders in the STEM fields. By adding arts education to the mix, we are merging complementary fields that will help ensure the success of our graduates as balanced and well-rounded professionals.”
