The TRIO Student Support Services supports students in graduating from QCC and continuing on to a college or university of their choice. Services include academic counseling, career planning, cultural activities, tutoring, and financial aid and scholarship planning. TRIO Student Support Services is a federally funded program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education.
Requirements
To qualify, a student must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident, be highly motivated to graduate, be a Healthcare focused student, and meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Be a first-generation college student (neither parent has a bachelor’s degree)
- Meet federal low-income eligibility
- Have a documented disability
TRIO offers both classic TRIO SSS and TRIO SSS STEM–Health Sciences. Students will be placed into the appropriate program after they apply.
How TRIO helps
- One-on-one academic and career advising from a college advisor
- Individual and group tutoring, including support with the TEAS and other assessments
- Campus tours to four-year colleges, such as Worcester State, Northeastern, and UMass Amherst
- A warm and welcoming study space with snacks, coffee, tea, and other beverages
- Opportunities to connect with other TRIO students
- Help with financial aid, scholarships, and transfer planning
