The Quinsigamond Community College HomePlate Food Pantry & Resource Center provides food for students in need as well as resources to help with other challenges. We are run by knowledgeable, compassionate student volunteers. Our volunteers work hard to help clients find the resources they need in other areas of their lives; learning, fuel assistance, housing and much more.

Getting Started

The purpose of the QCC HomePlate Food Pantry and Resource Center is to provide you with the items necessary for meals at home, and on campus. In addition to addressing food insecurity, we can also help connect you with additional resources, such as food assistance, housing applications, and other services. Our goal is to help you find ways to become more secure in finding food, while eating more balanced and nutritious meals.

Requirements

  • First Visit/Application: In order for us to assist you in the most efficient manner possible, we ask that each new client fills out an intake application on their first visit. Please visit https://app.pantrysoft.com/login/QCC .  This will bring you to our PantrySoft Application.
  • Clients are limited to 20 coins per week! Each Monday your coins will refill! Watch for our specials!
  • Additional Help: We will also check-in with you to see if there are any other resources that we can help you find, or if you would allow us to send you to a faculty member who can better assist with your needs.
  • To use the food pantry you must be a current QCC student. All students using the pantry must use their student.qcc.edu email address.
  • Confidentiality: All of your information will be kept confidential. We will take your information during the intake process and assign you a unique pantry ID number. Your personal information will only be used in the event that you lose your pantry ID number. We will never share your information without your permission.
  • Hours: Hours will change depending on volunteers, exam schedules, holidays and other factors. Please check for posted hours before your visit. The HomePlate Food Pantry is open 5 days per week. We do follow QCC's calendar!

Donations

If you would like to donate food items to the Pantry, our most-needed items are:

  • On the go snacks such as granola bars, trail mix, etc.
  • Cereal
  • Personal Hygiene Items
  • Diapers (all sizes)
  • Pancake/Baking Mixes

Food donations can be dropped off at any time in the drop-box located outside of the Food Pantry. The Food Pantry and Resource Center is located inside the revolving doors in the basement of the Administration Building, Room B65A

If you are ever unsure of whether the food pantry and resource center can help you in any way or with one particular issue, just ask! We will work our hardest to ensure that your needs are met.

Resources

We provide our students with the resources, guidance and information they need to stay happy and healthy. While we provide food to students in need, we also do our best to help guide you through other issues that may arise. Whether you need help applying for SNAP or MassHealth benefits, finding affordable child care, Section 8 vouchers or something else, talk to us. Our student volunteers are equipped with knowledge to help streamline these processes and point you in the right direction.
