WORCESTER, MA – October 27, 2026 – Max German, a member of the Quinsigamond Community College Board of Trustees, has been selected as one of eight finalists in Massport’s “Voice of Logan” contest, which will determine the next official voice heard by millions of travelers passing through Boston Logan International Airport.
German, born in Worcester and raised in Shrewsbury, was chosen from over 5,000 applicants after submitting an audition that showcased his distinctly Massachusetts voice.
"It's been such a fun experience since becoming a finalist. I've been texting everybody I know," said German, who traces his Worcester-style New England accent to his mother and grandparents.
German is among eight finalists competing for the chance to become the newest voice welcoming visitors to Boston throughout Logan Airport. Public voting is underway and will help determine the winner.
While German will represent his current Dorchester neighborhood in the contest, he remains deeply proud of his Worcester roots and his connection to QCC.
"QCC was so formative," German said. "I graduated high school and didn't know where my path would lead, but I was able to figure it all out at QCC. I got my grades up, got involved, and haven't looked back."
At QCC, German was involved in initiatives such as the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society's effort to establish a campus food pantry. What began as a closet stocked with shelf-stable groceries has since grown into a comprehensive resource center offering fresh produce, hygiene products and connections to housing and other community supports.
After graduating from QCC, German transferred to Boston College, where he earned a bachelor's degree. He is now enrolled at Boston College Law School. In 2025, he joined the QCC Board of Trustees as a way to give back to the college and community that helped launch his academic and professional journey.
If he doesn't become the "Voice of Logan," German said he would be happy to serve as a voice for QCC instead.
"I would welcome people to the college by saying, 'QCC is the place that no matter who you are or where you are from, you will have an opportunity here for a better life.'"
