How did QCC impact your journey?

When I returned to school, I was balancing life as a husband and father with full-time work. Because I worked in telecommunications, I initially planned to earn an associate degree in electronics. QCC was my first and only choice, and it quickly became a scholastic launchpad. Its outstanding faculty and administration helped me recognize that a business degree was better aligned with my goals. More importantly, they helped me realize my full potential while navigating my busy schedule.

As I neared graduation, QCC advisors introduced me to programs like MassTransfer, which allowed me to transition into a state university without a cumbersome application process. Without their guidance, I might never have taken advantage of the pathway that led directly to my bachelor’s degree at Fitchburg State University. Building on that momentum, I later went on to earn my MBA at Fitchburg State as well.

What are you currently doing?

Currently I am a Knowledge Designer navigating the fast-evolving world, thanks to AI and all that comes with it. I am digging into the new technologies and tools that seem to change daily, at times.

Outside of work, I am now a father of two college students and enjoy watching them grow and develop into two amazing people who I feel will do great things. One of my passions is volunteering with various organizations that are near and dear to me like MassWildlife and Read to a Child. I have also started learning photography and pairing that up with my love of the outdoors. Hopefully my wife and I will enjoy traveling more where my (limited but growing) photography skills can capture our adventures.

What advice would you give to current students and fellow alumni?

For current students, my biggest advice is to take real ownership of your experience. There will be days when things get confusing or frustrating, and that’s just part of the process. The best thing you can do is lean on the folks around you. The team at QCC is fantastic, and they have so many tools to help you navigate the rough patches; all you have to do is reach out and ask.

For alumni, it’s simple: never stop being a student. The world changes fast, and staying relevant and fulfilled means constantly looking for chances to sharpen your craft, pick up new skills, and stay curious.
