If you've ever made a purchase for your department at QCC, you may have been helped by Antoinette Matisoo. As a Buyer for the Business Office, Antoinette organizes all the pieces that make that purchase happen. While purchase orders and contracts can seem overwhelming, she assured us that there are plenty of resources to learn from, and the more information you can provide to the Business Office in advance, the easier it will be.
Outside of QCC, Antoinette has a creative side that shines through her passion for architecture and photography. She also earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in printmaking and painting!
What's your favorite part of working at QCC?
I’m a numbers and computer person, yet I love people. Being at the school really helps to combine all that. I'm trying to be more involved [she recently joined the Employee Engagement & Recognition Committee (EERC)] and get to know the other departments and what they do.
Also, we've got a really excellent team, and I have the best manager in the world [Director of Purchasing and Contracts Anthony Penny].
Where's your happy place?
Any saltwater beach - well, as long as it's clean!
If you had a theme song, what would it be?
There are so many, but it would have to be Get Back by The Beatles. [Next time you see her, ask her to tell you the story of why.]
What's a movie you could watch on repeat?
I like rom-coms. During the Christmas season, I'll get a membership to the Hallmark Channel to watch the movies. My husband and son make fun of me!
Dogs or cats?
Dogs - cat claws seem to get me all the time.
