WORCESTER, MA – June 8, 2026 – Quinsigamond Community College is calling on regional employers to partner in its Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Degree Program, a workforce-driven initiative designed to address the growing demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals. In addition to classroom instruction, QCC also handles most administrative responsibilities, making it easy for employers to participate.
The program combines paid, on-the-job training with college-level coursework, enabling participants to earn a degree while gaining practical experience, without disrupting daily work schedules. Through MassEducate and MassReconnect, many participants qualify for a free degree, significantly reducing or eliminating education costs for employers supporting their workforce.
Designed for both incumbent employees seeking to upskill and new hires entering entry-level roles, the program offers employers a flexible and cost-effective approach to workforce development.
“What sets QCC’s Cybersecurity Apprenticeship apart is its adaptability,” said Project Manager of Apprenticeship Degree Initiatives Krista Piazza. “Many participants bring prior education, certifications or professional experience. Through prior learning assessment and competency alignment, we can often accelerate their path to graduation without compromising academic standards.”
This tailored approach delivers measurable benefits for employers, including faster time to fully credential cybersecurity professionals, reduced onboarding and training gaps and debt-free or low-cost degree pathways for employees.
“This talent strategy results in a stronger, more loyal workforce pipeline developed in direct alignment with organizational needs,” Piazza said.
QCC collaborates closely with employer partners, while managing program coordination, academic instruction and apprentice support, allowing employers to focus on mentoring and integrating apprentices into their operations.
