The Auxilium Center for Entrepreneurship at QCC is hosting its first WooTank qualifier

WORCESTER, MA – March 26, 2026 – The Auxilium Center for Entrepreneurship at Quinsigamond Community College recently announced its first QCC WooTank qualifying pitch competition, where students will present their business ideas to a panel of judges in hopes of earning funding and a spot in the intercollegiate WooTank finals on April 7.

The event will take place on Monday, March 30 at 5:30 p.m., showcasing more than ten student entrepreneurs from across disciplines, including business, technology, healthcare, nursing and the creative industries. The competition will be hosted by Jennifer Hernandez, CEO of G.E.M. Marketing Solutions and QCC alum.

In preparation for the event, students are working closely with experienced mentors to refine their business models, pitch materials and presentation skills. For many, the competition will be their first formal pitch before judges and a live audience.

The first-place winner will earn $750 and become QCC’s first representative at the WooTank intercollegiate pitch competition, organized by The Venture Forum, a Worcester-based business support organization. WooTank is part of StartUp Week Worcester, a multi-day celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation in Central Massachusetts hosted by Auxilium Worcester.

Student ventures span beauty and wellness, pet products, healthcare, transportation, fitness, technology and community-based solutions, demonstrating the diversity and creativity of QCC’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

"The QCC WooTank Pitch Competition reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to experiential learning, innovation and student success through entrepreneurship," said Rocky Knight, director of the Auxilium Center for Entrepreneurship.
