Community colleges serve as a gateway to higher education, particularly for low-income students as they offer the flexibility needed to navigate life’s challenges, as well as delivering a fiscally reasonable way to attend college. However, if Congress enacts these strict credit-hour requirements, it will effectively close the door on thousands of students who rely on financial aid to pursue their education.
