New Men's Head Basketball Coach Ryan Brown

New Men's Basketball Coach

QCC is excited to welcome Ryan Brown as the new Men's Head Basketball Coach. Brown, a 2007 graduate of Holy Name High School, brings a lifelong passion for basketball, leadership, and community engagement to his new role at the college.

A standout student-athlete at Holy Name, Brown went on to play collegiate basketball at Anna Maria College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a degree in management engineering. Off the court, he serves as a transportation industry analyst at the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Volpe Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Before joining QCC, Brown coached for four impactful years at Assabet Valley High School, three years as a varsity assistant coach at Saint Paul’s (formerly Holy Name) and three seasons at Worcester North High School.

In 2018, Brown founded Go Hard or Stay Home (GHOSH), a grassroots basketball program based in Worcester focused on skill development, mentorship, and life preparation. Since then, GHOSH has grown into a respected and influential youth program that has impacted hundreds of athletes.

Baseball Team Rallies Around Player Fighting Cancer

The Telegram also highlighted 19-year-old first-year baseball player Jake Paskell who is battling B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia for the second time. Despite excelling during the fall season as the team's leading hitter, Paskell had to step away from classes and baseball after discovering his cancer had returned in January 2025. His teammates and coaches have rallied around him, dedicating their 2025 season to him

While undergoing treatment, Paskell maintains a positive outlook and uses baseball as motivation. Unlike his first cancer diagnosis in high school, which left him uncertain if he'd ever play sports again, Paskell now says he's "more motivated than ever" to return to the field with his teammates after his recovery.

Stay tuned for a fundraising link to the Worcester Bravehearts game on June 6, where Jake will throw out the first pitch!
