Mission

The Access to Opportunity Committee (ATOC) promotes the educational mission of Quinsigamond Community College and is committed to empowering student organizations, staff, and faculty by providing funding for a variety of activities that enhance the campus experience.

Our purpose is to help create an inclusive and vibrant campus environment where every member of our college community has the resources and opportunities to thrive.  We aspire to cultivate a culture that encourages engagement, continuous learning, and meaningful contributions through a variety of enriching activities.

Meetings

Meetings are open to all QCC Faculty, Staff, and Students. Zoom meeting links will be emailed to QCC Family or email ATOC@qcc.mass.edu to join. The committee meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month remotely via Zoom from 3:00 p.m. — 4:00 p.m.

  • Co-Chair: Sean Harris, Director of Community Engagement for External Affairs
  • Co-Chair: Jennie Guzman-Gayflor, Advising Coordinator

Funding Request

Funds will be made available to faculty, staff and students of Quinsigamond Community College for the purpose of supporting educational events related to access and opportunity. Proposals for one-time and serial funding will be considered; no award implies a future award or ongoing funding.

Applications may be submitted on behalf of any College entity (e.g., individuals, student organizations, departments or committees including ad-hoc committees).

Past activities have included: guest lecturers, theatrical/dance/musical presentations, forums/seminars/workshops, literary/fine art presentations, films/videos, ethnic/cultural fairs, and receptions. The funds could also be used as part of shared expenses with another college or organization co-sponsoring an event. Funding is not limited to these activities. Funding can include the cost of honorariums, meals, and/or promotional materials.
