This course introduces students to the unique needs of the older adult population. Students explore fundamental concepts of aging, developmental theories, current trends, and relevant policies to build a foundation for occupational therapy practice with elders. Students learn therapeutic interventions, adaptive techniques, and environmental technologies that promote independence, prevent dysfunction, and support health and well-being.
