Navigating Your Transfer

 Ready to transfer? Transfer requirements may vary, but the following rules typically apply:

  • Connect with QCC Transfer Services
  • Connect with Transfer Admissions at prospective transfer institutions
  • Submit your application(s) for admission
  • Update your FAFSA and apply for available scholarships
  • Order official QCC transcripts from the National Student Clearninghouse

Masstransfer

MassTransfer is a state-wide initiative between the Massachusetts community colleges, Massachusetts state universities, and University of Massachusetts campuses.

Commonwealth Commitment

Commonwealth Commitment provides additional benefits to students attending QCC full-time who maintain a GPA of 3.0. Students must apply within the first 15 college-level credits earned. Commonwealth Commitment includes all the benefits of MassTransfer and offers increased financial incentives to qualifying students.

Articulation Agreements

Articulation agreements are contracts between QCC and private four-year colleges and universities. In most cases, these agreements outline the criteria for acceptance and the ability to transfer your QCC coursework.

Benefits of Agreements

Some of the benefits of an agreement include:

  • Guaranteed acceptance from a QCC academic program to a specific major or program at a baccalaureate institution
  • Mapped QCC (college-level) courses
  • Assurance of Junior/Upper-division student standing in certain majors
  • Access to dedicated transfer scholarships for students following the transfer agreement
  • Assurance of complete transferability of coursework within the guidelines of the agreement

Agreements are not necessary to transfer

Agreements can be beneficial to ensure course transferability for majors such as business administration, liberal arts, or general studies. For more prescribed programs, transferring without a transfer agreement can be the preferred route. Confirming transfer options with transfer admissions representatives from prospective transfer institutions is important.
