1098T Information

The law requires schools to send this information to each eligible taxpayer and to the IRS. However the IRS does not require taxpayers to submit 1098T forms when filing tax returns.

The 2016 1098T forms will be mailed to eligible students who have not consented to receive the form electronically at their preferred address on record with Quinsigamond Community College by January 31, 2017. To print a duplicate copy, please refer to the instructions listed below. All eligible students will receive notification of their 1098T availability via Qmail by January 31, 2017.

For each calendar year, we report the dollar amount billed for qualified tuition and related expenses. This amount appears in box 2 of the 1098T form. We also report the total dollar amount of scholarships and grants, administered and processed by the school, in box 4 of the 1098T. These forms do not contain specific payment information.

Please be aware that if a student’s tuition and fees were covered in full by financial aid grants and/or scholarships, a student will not be eligible for a 1098T.  If a student has loans, a 1098E may be issued once the student starts paying back the loan, but not while the student is still in school.

Students and parents are advised to use personal financial records and consult professional tax advisors to determine the qualifying amount for tax purposes as the College cannot determine if a student qualifies for the tax credit or supply tax advice.
