Dear QCC Staff and Faculty,

As you may have heard, QCC is transitioning away from Starfish and onto a new student success platform called EAB Navigate. Navigate is similar to Starfish in that it can be used for scheduling appointments, tracking notes on students, raising alerts on students not performing well, obtaining student information such as course history and grades, and other tools for collaboration. 

QCC started implementing the Navigate platform at the start of this spring term, and we hope to have the first phase complete and ready to pilot for this summer. If you are interested in learning more about the EAB platform and seeing it in use, the CAE is hosting an EAB Navigate open demonstration on 4/3 from 3-4PM. The link to join is below and all are invited.

This 60-minute workshop will look at uploading a YouTube video to Kaltura, then changing the player settings to allow the Kaltura/YouTube combination to play in multiple browsers.  During the workshop, attendees will also learn about Annoto and its different preferences (tools) to support a collaborative learning experience for the students. 

At the end of the session, the participants will be able to: 

·       Locate their Kaltura My Media in Blackboard Original or Ultra 

·       Upload a YouTube Video to their Kaltura My Media space 

·       Change Kaltura player settings for a YouTube video 

·       Locate Annoto Dashboard and Features (tools)

This workshop is intended for those who are ready for the next level of Ultra learning because they have attended previous Ultra trainings, reviewed materials in the Blackboard Ultra Faculty and Staff Self-Paced Training course, and/or are using Ultra and are comfortable with the basic tools and features. Topics covered during this workshop include cloud documents (including how embedded documents work); rubrics for non-Bb assignments; AI features and tools, such as auto-generated learning modules, test bank questions, images, rubrics and various types of assignments; and new features in Hypothesis and Kaltura, such as Annoto.

This 90-minute workshop is intended for faculty who have attended the Blackboard Ultra Essentials and Blackboard Ultra Assignments workshops and who want to delve deeper into using the gradebook in an Ultra course. During this workshop, attendees will learn about various views in the Ultra gradebook and gradebook settings, how to create rubrics and categories, how to set up calculations for the overall grade, how to monitor students’ performance using analytics, and how to use new features in Ultra that allow students to practice self-determination by keeping track of their own progress.
