Food & Housing

  • Families who need to apply for EA Shelter should call remote line 1.866.584.0653 (families household should not go to local DHS/DTA office –will be closed to visitors)
  • If you learn of anyone that has a no-heat emergency or needs heating assistance, please have them call 508.754.1176 and select Option 2. Staff is continually monitor our phone lines and will be in touch with people as quickly as possible.

Internet

  • Charter is also opening up Wi-Fi hotspots for public use, and will continue to offer its Spectrum Internet Assist, high-speed broadband program to eligible low-income households delivering speeds of 30 Mbps.
  • Comcast Xfinity WiFi hotspots will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. For a map of Xfinity WiFi hotspots, visit www.xfinity.com/wifi. Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots and then launch a browser.
  • Internet Essentials Free to New Customers: low-income families who live in a Comcast service area can sign-up for 60 days of complimentary Internet Essentials service. To enroll for Comcast's service, call 855.846.8376 (Spanish: 855.765.6995).
