What To Do When You Are Sick

  • Complete the Illness Intake Form, which is reviewed by QCC’s Health Team. You will receive an email and/or call from a Health Consultant after your form is reviewed.
  • Stay home if you have a fever, vomiting or diarrhea until you are symptom free for at least 24 hours. If you have a fever, you must be fever-free without fever-reducing medications, such as Tylenol, for at least 24 hours before your return.

If you tested positive for COVID-19 or influenza:

  • Complete the Illness Intake Form, which is reviewed by QCC’s Health Team. You will receive an email and/or call from the Health Consultant after your form is reviewed.
  • If you are feeling sick, then stay home and away from others until you have a significant reduction in overall symptoms.
  • If you are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms (for example mild fatigue and a runny nose) you do not need to stay home; instead, wear a well-fitting medical grade mask around others.
  • Wear a well-fitting medical grade mask around others for 5 days after you feel better and return to regular activities.
  • To return to campus:
  • You must be fever-free, without the use of medications for at least 24 hours
    • You must have a significant reduction in overall symptoms
    • You may also review your symptoms prior to returning to campus with QCC’s Health Consultant. The Health Consultant can help you determine if your symptoms are reduced enough to return to campus.
