Thanks to a reference from Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and working hard to maintain a high GPA, student Christina Duggan was selected as a Bronze Scholar on Coca-Cola's 2022 Academic Team and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

“This money will assist with tuition, books, and necessities for clinicals,” Christina said.

After finishing her coursework at QCC this summer, Christina will be attending Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in the fall, with the goal of becoming an x-ray technician.

Scholarships like these are offered to PTK members and can provide extra support that many students need to continue their studies.

Christina also noted that PTK offers even more benefits.

“Getting involved is just really fun, not only for giving back to the community, but also meeting a lot of cool people and seeing everyone come together," she said, adding," Stop in the PTK office if you can!”

Christina also credits her Biology Professor Lauren Klosowski, Biology Professor Ashley Bregman and Transfer Counselor Beth Fullerton for being so supportive.

Her advice to students is simple, “Never be scared to ask for help. Talk to your advisor, tutoring is great, and your professors want to help you and see you succeed.”
