Lunch and Learn Series is Back

April 2022

The Office of Staff and Faculty Development is once again offering its Lunch and Learn workshops, which provide an informal opportunity for staff and faculty members to enhance skills, knowledge, thinking and learning. The lunches provide a chance for colleagues to learn from each other about professional development experiences, externships, travel, and contemporary issues impacting higher education.

The next Lunch and Learn workshop will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. in 107 Ahlfors (on QCC's main campus 670 West Boylston Street, Worcester) and Zoom and will feature Transfer Counselor Beth Fullerton's Mexican Experience - Living a Beautiful Life in Mexico. Ms. Fullerton spent four months living, working, and traveling in Central Mexico. She said it was one of the most amazing experiences she's ever had.

"I taught English five days a week, working with seven other instructors from five different countries, lived with four 20-somethings in one house, and took Spanish lessons twice a week.," Ms. Fullerton said. "I taught English to grades 1-6 at a local private school and also taught Level 1 English five nights a week to students ranging from age 11 to 50, who wanted to learn a second language to improve their career choices or graduate from a university."

And, yes, Ms. Fullerton also ate amazing food—and not so amazing food, such as crickets.

Come join her for this fun, engaging and informational Lunch and Learn workshop as she shares her experiences and lessons. csooy [at] qcc.mass.edu (Register at Lunch and Learn).
