PTK’s Live and Learn Greenhouse Has a Bumper Crop This Season
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) students are continually tending to a variety of vegetables and plants that are already producing a bumper crop at the PTK Live and Learn Greenhouse.
Everything edible that is grown, is then donated to the HomePlate Food Pantry and Resource Center.
The PTK Live & Learn Greenhouse opened in July 2017 to connect people and the natural environment, and create a resource of healthy, nutrient-rich food for the Quinsigamond Community College community.
“The PTK Live and Learn Greenhouse is a hidden gem on our campus. Our students learn so much about the value of growing their own food. By donating what is grown, they are also seeing first-hand the benefits of their hard work, which is helping their fellow students,” said Bonnie Coleman, manager for Student Resources.
Beginning on November 1 - December 24, PTK will host its annual Poinsettia Sale, with proceeds benefiting the PTK Live and Learn Greenhouse.
