Phi Theta Kappa Invites 889 students; Hosts Fall Cookout

September 2016

This fall, 889 invitations were sent out to Phi Theta Kappa prospective members. Membership eligibility is based upon the number of credit hours students have completed at Quinsigamond Community College and their cumulative GPA, which is required to be 3.5 or higher. Therefore, membership is a special honor afforded to a select group of outstanding students. Students need to respond by November 4 at 4:00 p.m.

The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. Membership guarantees access to benefits such as scholarships. Students participate in community outreach projects as well.

Earlier in September, PTK participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Auburn. The goal was to raise $500, and the nine-person team raised $650 for the relay

On Wednesday, October 5, PTK hosted the Annual Fall Cookout, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Fuller Student Center lawn. Festivities included a DJ, caricature artist, face painting, a performance by the QCC Jazz Ensemble and more. All proceeds will benefit the new QCC Live and Learn Greenhouse.
