QCC Signs Agreement That Offers Students Opportunities at Nichols College

August 2016

Quinsigamond Community College has entered a new agreement with Nichols College to ease transfer options for students to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Nichols College in Dudley, Mass., offers business programs and has worked with QCC in the past to offer transfer programs and evening classes.

“Community college is a great springboard for many students because the cost of attendance is so low,” said QCC President Gail Carberry.

“Students can really finish their four-year degree affordably, flexibly and in a time frame that works for them,” said Nichols President Susan Engelkemeyer.

Earlier this month, Nichols launched articulation agreements with Quinsigamond Community College, Quinebaug Valley Community College, in Danielson, Conn., and Community College of Rhode Island in Warwick. This is part of an initiative called Affordable Business and Leadership Education (ABLE). The initiative streamlines the credit acceptance process while also guaranteeing admission as long as they meet the minimum GPA requirement of 2.0. Special pricing means that Nichols offers students who earn associate's degrees from its partner institutions a rate that is lower than other private, four-year colleges.
