QCC’s New Healthcare and Workforce Development Center is Open

Free Valet Parking Among the Many State-of-the-Art Amenities

Worcester, MA – August 29, 2014 – QCC is excited to announce the soft opening of its new Healthcare and Workforce Development Center at 25 Federal Street, Worcester on Tuesday, September 2.

QCC’s new facility will house the college’s Healthcare programs as well as non-credit and workforce and development programming.  The facility boasts state-of-the-art amenities such as simulation labs that offer students unique training opportunities in actual medical environments. New simulation labs include the rear of an ambulance, and a doctor’s office complete with examination and waiting rooms. The Healthcare Programs offered at the new downtown facility include:

  • Nurse Education Evening
  • Advanced Placement Nurse Education LPN
  • Advanced Placement Nurse Education Paramedic
  • Practical Nursing Certificate
  • Practical Nursing Certificate-Evening
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Respiratory Care
  • Emergency Medical Technician
  • EMT Paramedic Certificate
  • Paramedic Technology Degree
  • Nursing Assistant Certificate
  • Perioperative Certificate
  • Pharmacy Technician Certificate
  • Phlebotomy /EKG Technician
  • Medical Assisting Certificate
  • Medical Support Specialist 
  • Nurse Education  
  • Surgical Technology Certificate

QCC President Gail Carberry said, “QCC is so pleased with our partnerships within the city. It takes commitment and dedication from everyone involved for a project of this magnitude. We couldn’t ask for better relationships than what we currently have with the city of Worcester and the Worcester Business Development Corporation (WBDC). They were very helpful assisting us to resolve conflicts quickly and painlessly. We also thank our faculty and staff who have made herculean efforts to ensure that we open for students on September 2.” 

In a last minute agreement with the City of Worcester and the WBDC, parking lots across the street from the facility on Federal Street were secured. These lots allow premium parking for QCC students, faculty and staff.  In addition to a safe and secure environment, free valet parking is available.

Steve Marini, QCC Vice President of Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer said, “We wouldn’t have the prime parking options that are available to students now without the commitment and assistance of Kathy Johnson, Assistant City Manager, who we owe a debt of gratitude.”
