Worcester, MA, August 9, 2013 – The Marlborough Mayor’s Office, in collaboration with Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) and the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation has developed the “Marlborough Works!” Initiative designed to assist local residents prepare for and land local jobs.


A free, a professional Résumé and Interview Workshop designed to instruct attendees on best practices for writing an effective résumé as well as interviewing techniques is scheduled for Wednesday, September 4. The workshop will cover important techniques including: creating an effective résumé, landing the interview, avoiding key résumé and job application killers, answering “problem” questions and ultimately obtaining a fulfilling career with a local employer.

The workshop is part of a two-pronged, Mayoral initiative to jumpstart local employment with a Job Fair scheduled for September 24 as the follow-up event.

The workshop is free of charge. Attendees will have priority registration and pre-admission to the accompanying Job Fair. Industries participating in the Job Fair include: Healthcare, Manufacturing, Hospitality, Retail, Medical Technology, Education, Defense, Technology, Renewable Power, Banking, Sales and Marketing and Alternative Energy.
