WORCESTER, Ma – Quinsigamond Community College is expecting a record number of students to turn out for its One-Stop Registration event held next week on campus.

As noted in a recent Associated Press article published in the Telegram & Gazette, in light of the current economic times, enrollment in community colleges has increased across the nation. Quinsigamond, in particular, saw its spring enrollment jump 11% over the same period last year, and its application numbers for the fall have steadily increased this summer. During the entire ’07-08 academic year, the college served nearly 13,000 students, an increase of almost 10% over ’06-07.

The College’s One-Stop Registration event next week, held at the Harrington Learning Center on campus, will allow students to register for courses, meet with an academic advisor, complete financial aid and payment forms, take assessment tests, as well as acquire parking passes and student ID’s all in one area. 3,700 new and returning students have been invited to the event; 900 additional individuals have been invited to complete assessment testing.
